Pu Erh is a luxury for which you have to acquire a taste.

The origin of this unique variety of tea can be traced back to Tang dynasty, as long as 1000 years ago. This tea was heavily traded in China during the Tang dynasty (AD 618-907) and exported to Burma, Mongolia, Tibet and Middle East. To ease its packaging and transportation, it was compressed into cakes or bricks of tea leaves and wrapped to protect it from heat, moisture and sunlight. This peculiar storage method matured the leaves and developed a dark green color and mellower flavor.

Pu Erh is also renowned as a medicinal tea due to its numerous health benefits. Drinking Pu Erh daily can help burn extra calories and help with weight loss. It also helps control cholesterol levels and blood pressure. It boosts immunity against flu and cold through its strong antioxidant action. Older the tea, the more effective its therapeutic potential. The alkaline nature of Pu Erh tea can help neutralize acidity in the body and liquefy the blood density to combat acidity. In Cantonese culture, this tea is drunk after heavy meals to cut fatty oils and aid digestion. It can also counter the unpleasant effects of alcohol consumption, besides keeping the person fresh and active.

First experience with Pu Erh may leave a person overwhelmed by its musty aroma and smokiness. However, one gradually gets used to its earthiness and can truly appreciate its smooth, rich taste.

One of my Chinese friends recommended the pu-erh tea who told me that the people from the west didn’t like this tea much. I had one sip of it and I had to agree with him, however after a cup it was like I was hooked upon by the tea. This is what happens when you try pu-erh teas. You initially go for a taste, then you become addicted to it. I got this tea from this site at a reasonable price. The taste is not so earthy and the first few cups are mild. I and my friend always have this tea whenever we meet at either of our places. You should try it too.

It actually works! It lives up to its reputation of being an elixir for long lasting youthfulness. I steeped it in hot water and it yielded a deep brown liquid with a light sherry bouquet. Its numerous health benefits like decreasing stress and cholesterol, and being rich in antioxidants, are complemented by its smooth, earthy flavor.

In our family everyone loves their own type of tea. Black and pu-erh are my favorites. I love to drink pu-erh since it has a less caffeine and it helps me nor to fill heavy when I drink it after a heavier meal or in the afternoon. My every purchase from primatea is always feels good, since i get a great quality tea and great price combination. Thanks guys!
