Young Hyson Supreme Green Tea 2LB Precious Eyebrows

$79.00

Young Hyson Supreme Loose Leaf Green Tea. A nice long green tea leaf. Fragrant and sweet taste tea from China.

Hyson, which means “flourishing spring” in Chinese, signifies the season in which this tea is picked.
Harvested just before rains, it embodies the warmth, sunny, and fresh green character of spring. Young Hyson refers to the superior quality of tea with a pungent, full bodied taste.
The twisted long and thin leaves open up and yield a sweet and light cup with an earthy aroma.
It is also known as Precious Eyebrows- Eyebrow shaped leaves with a slightly longer leaf. As the leaves unfurl and expand in size, it should be used sparingly for optimum flavour. It can be served both hot and iced. Though the hot hyson tea is usually liked without milk or sugar, cold hyson can be garnished with lime or lemon.
The taste is fragrant and sweet.

I brewed it both hot and cold and it tasted good either way. It can be infused about three times and it yields a full bodied cup. I enjoy sipping onto its fresh looking greenish liquor with a hint of natural sweetness. It tastes nice straight up without any milk or sugar.

It’s the first time I tasted a Chinese tea without its usual smoky character. It is sturdy and I found it very satisfying with a slightly earthy taste. Its natural sweetness given to it by its young leaves is particularly enjoyable. It had quite long tea leaves when I steeped it, and it gave out a very nice aroma too.

I am very happy to lay my hands on the Young Hyson tea. I have long been a fan of the Young Hyson tea. This is one of the many teas with a delicate flavor and no harshness at all. It is very much suitable for those who seek relaxation after a long tiring day. This was the first green tea that I bought from Primatea. I am also pleased with other black teas that I find here but this green is probably the best according to me. Overall, the tea has a complex yet a satisfying taste which is enough to keep you hooked to it.

The aroma is smoky: much less so than gunpowder tea, but nonetheless quite smoky. The smoky character is bold without overpowering the other aspects of the tea. The aroma also has some intricate aspects to it. The tea is much less bitter than the aroma would suggest, and it has a cool and clean aftertaste. I like this one, and it is very inexpensive. Make sure not to brew this one with water that is too hot.
