This exquisite Japanese green tea is known for its deep flavor and beautiful color. It is grown in the Shizuoka province on the northern latitude, with large fans covering the wide acreage under cultivation. These fans keep the air circulating during cold snaps and protect the tea bush from freezing. Harvested just in the beginning of February; its freshly picked leaves are delicately deep steamed, rolled and dried for their typical needle like appearance. It brews fresh green liquor with a delicate, bitter sweet flavor and an aromatic sweetness. It yields its best flavor on the second or third infusion, and is most enjoyable during afternoon.
