The tea has been a favorite drink of the desert because it can effectively quench thirst. With a pinch of salt added to it, it helps restore the body’s balance of salt. This makes it an excellent drink for athletes who are required to replenish their body salts after a training session. It is also an abundant source of Vitamin C and hence acts an immune system booster.
The hibiscus fraction of the tea mixture has been found to have positive effects on lowering blood pressure, according to the February 2010 issue of the “Journal of Nutrition." The researchers concluded that hibiscus tea should be incorporated into the daily diets of those who struggle with mild high blood pressure. If you have arthritis pain, sipping a cup of hibiscus rose hip tea may offer some relief. 1. Alexis Florin

This red tea simply takes your breath away. Later I found that they were dried petals of the hibiscus flower. Not sure whether I should call it tea, but it is very rich in taste and flavor. It works as a great sweet and cold beverage if infused with honey and a tinge of line to it. You can actually give it to your children for the summer days. It feels refreshing and is very cooling on the system.
